"Gail"

Gail is a friend I met a couple of years ago thru a mutual friend, Tracy and she is another story.  But we seemed to bond.  I am so very thankful to have her call me friend, as well as Marcia and Katrina and her mom Carol, Kay.  They all have been amazing.  But I digress, this is Gails story.

When I starting coming out of my coma, it was her voice I recognized and she was praying for me.  All the while, seeing the black rats and snowing black snow and being in a fog, unaware of where I was, and who I was.  Gail calling me by name.  I was aware that there were other voices around me and a Dr.? telling me I had given them a good scare.  But it was Gail whom I found comfort with,  She is truly one of  a kind as the other friends I mentioned.

She and 2 of her girls came down here to Cortez and took me to lunch and then back up to Durango to my house.  Quite a looooong drive for them.  Her and the girls load up what we could and brought it back to  the nursing home.  I was also able to get some more of my shirts and my favorite jacket which an old friend from  Tucson, had given me.  She also ranks amongst my treasured friends. But we have lost touch. I was able to bring art supplies and crochet thread, I am soooo happy. I now have familiar things around me and that helps a lot. I don't mind the isolation, it is not having MY things around. And even a few, makes a big difference.

Gail has been going thru a lot of stuff and yet she takes time for me. Spending her time, and sharing with me.  Having take out with the girls was awesome, the thoughtfulness. I really miss take out, and I'm usually a cheap date. lol  She even stopped at Natures Oasis to pick up some green chile, cheese tamales for me and biscotti, both are favorites.   I had the tamales Sat and split one with 2 of the residents.  We all were thrilled...  a wonderful  blessing.

I am very blessed to know these people. To have someone who not only talks the talks but walks the walks.

This is the way to show my thanks and gratitude for those friends,

I also used my walker on Friday, so very tired. Legs were complaining and ever time I was reminded of just what a wonderful blessing I had been given.   It was a long day, first one I had since being in here that was for pleasure.  I am still smiling, such a happy memory made. A selfless act of true giving.

Till another time.  Yes I have discovered that I do have the faith of a mustard.  Thanking the Great Eternal God and Jesus Christ for my life and for them being in my life.
